[edit] APP Open Meeting 02-23-2010, 9:30 PM Eastern
Meeting will take place on IRC in channel #app-meeting. See APP IRC for help.
Tonight will mark the first of many open floor meetings for the APP. The meeting agenda is subject to change at any time, but currently is as follows :
- Reorganization of APP Administration: Many members of the APP have expressed their feelings in that the current council of the APP is unproductive, or at least certain persons that make up the council. It is simple fact that the APP as a party will be unable to progress without a council willing to do so. Due to this discussions will be held tonight about a possible re-organization of the APP Administration or the removal of inactives, as stated below.
- Removal of Inactive Administration & Related VIP's: The party should not be host to any sort of inactive officer or VIP designated person in general. If a position was assigned to this individual and that individual is not able to be contacted over the course of one week, or simply, is contacted but for whatever the reason does not show up for scheduled meetings. They are to be removed and replaced as soon as possible. We should not be host to inactive individuals since we cannot afford to be inactive. The only direction is forward, and we are not a parking lot.
- Constitution Discussion:
[edit] WebDev Meetings
The long-term web development team holds its regular meeting every Tuesday evening at 9:30 PM EST. All potential contributors are encouraged to attend! Join us on the irc #theamericanpirateparty-webdev at irc.freenode.net, or through webchat.freenode.net. See APP IRC for help on IRC.
[edit] Volunteers Needed!
This is for anyone interested in helping out with the party. Right now, the party has committees, but no people to staff them. If you're interested in any of the following committees, or doing something else to help the party, please leave your name and some method of contact (such as soandso-at-email-dot-com) on the discussion page for this page. Kita is working on committee formation; if you're interested in heading a committee you can contact her by sending her a private message on reddit or emailing her at amy-dot-r-dot-stapleton-at-gmail-dot-com.
Each committee has its own thread on the forum. Please visit and write down your ideas and suggestions! Forum moderators are generally the committee heads. You can contact them directly either by posting on that committee's thread or by emailing them. Click their forum user name to access their email address.
[edit] Currently active committees
- Public Relations Committee: This committee will be responsible for the development of party leaflets/publicity campaigns, promoting the party on other sites such as Digg, and devising campaigns to gain the attention of (at least for now) the internet media.
- Platform Committee: This committee will be responsible for putting together a coherent platform which will be voted on by the party base before becoming official. It will be responsible for research and expanding proposals (ex. okay, so we oppose the Citizens United decision. How can we change it? This committee would brainstorm ways to address this problem.)
- Constitution Committee: This committee is working on the party's constitution. They hope to be done by March 2, 2010.
- Web Development Committee
[edit] Future/Proposed Committees
- Charter & Bylaws Committee: the Council has worked on drawing up a set of bylaws which are currently incomplete. If you have concrete proposals and ideas (i.e. not HIEARCHY IZ BAD U GAIS LOLOLOL or DO STUFF HURRR), please write them down in the forum for future incorporation.
- Local Organization Committee
- Voting Framework Committee
